Thank you, Angel Donor.

Four years ago today is the day you saved my son's life.  Xander is so full of life!  He loves it with every cell in his little body.  It amazes me that one so little can appreciate it that much but he does and he can thanks to you.

We so wish we knew who you were.  We want to know your name and see a picture of you, our son's hero.  I'd like to know what your favorite things to do were, your favorite color, favorite foods, family, friends, etc...everything!   I hope one day this happens.  I want Xander to know all about you.  You are both forever linked.

We think of you every day and hope that you are soaring high with the best of them!!!!!  ♥

LB Colby's (sorta like PF Changs)

Although he didn't cook, he did want to play restaurant.  I'm loving his imagination!

Doings

We've been busy as usual. Xander got out of school in late May and Lincoln the second week of June. I've been trying to keep them entertained or rather drain their energy each day the best I can. It's hard because I don't feel as if they ever get worn out.

Our days are spent at the beach, in the pool, at the sprayground, or just hanging out in the housee. It's too hot to just hang outside. Linc likes to play around with his school friends.

He had his very first sleep over a couple of weekends ago. It was perfect! He had his best friends Tyler and Austin over. We had make your own pizza for dinner, took a walk after, watched a movie during which there was a small pillow fight, and then giggles before finally falling asleep at midnight. Here are a few pics from our walk;

The weather has been hot but there have been some crazy thunderstorms. Ron and I watched a unreal lightening storm the other night from our dining room table. Mother nature can be wicked and awesome. The dark sky would light up and then CRACK! Thunderbolts would shoot across the sky. So cool.

We ended up losing power that night. We pulled candles out to make up for the lack of light in the condo. Xander was loving it. He kept thinking it was his birthday and would ask for cake. No matter how many times I told him it wasn't his birthday, he didn't believe me. He went to bed desvestated that he didn't have any cake and there weren't any presents. I think if we had power, I would have made him a cupcake. He was so insistent but sweet about it.

Tomorrow they are going to a pool party at Tyler's house. A bunch of boys will be there so it will be fun! But for today, we had to run some errands and are basically just hanging in. They're keeping busy though; here is their homemade version of a roller coaster.

Art Show

I love Linc's little school. It's a charter school for the arts so of course they are going to put on an art show! Check it out...

Gaga

This is what happened after I told Xander not to put his hands in Gaga's fish tank. He didn't put his hands, he instead put in legos. He's getting too smart.
This is Gaga.

Time is a flying.

I can't believe it's been a whole month since I've posted. I have been so busy which is a good thing.

Linc is doing great in school. He really likes it even though it's tough. He has computer class on Mondays, drama club on Tuesday, dance on Wednesday, Thursday is art and Friday is, well, fun Friday. They keep him busy over there and me too. He has homework every night except Friday. We study during the week on different themes like telling time or how a plant grows as well as spelling words. Every Friday he has a spelling test. It's exhausting but what's great is that he can do it! My Kindergarten days were a far cry from Linc's. I think we learned how to tie our shoes and how not to get food on our shirts.

Xander is doing well in "school" aka preschool. He goes Monday, Wednesday and Friday. He has a language therapist come in once a week to work on his speaking and communication skills. He's behind in those. She is great but it looks like he needs more than he's getting. She has only seen him 11 out of 18 possible times. That isn't good. He's sick a lot which keeps him from going to school.

Since it's not working out, I'm thinking about switching schools where he will have access to therapists right in his classroom. I'm not happy about it. I love his preschool. They have been so wonderful and I hate to leave but sometimes things just don't work out like you plan. I have to think of what is best for Xander. I fear he won't be ready to go to school with Linc in a year if I don't do all I can for him starting now.

Next week I'll be touring the school and making the decision based on what I see and what they tell me. It is our zoned elementary school which is literally a block away. It is actually the school Linc would have gone to had he not got into his charter school. I know it's a good school based on the research I have done however I don't know how they do with kids who need a little extra attention. Guess I'll get a vibe when I go. I hope it's right for Xander.

That's the school update. During the week we're also running around to soccer games on Monday night and t-ball on Tuesday and Friday nights with practice on Saturday morning. Xander is playing t-ball this year and it is so great!

I'm also considering putting in for a position on the PTA board at Linc's school. I can't even believe this is me talking but the board really needs help and because it's a small school, only 115 students, you can't sit back and hope that someone else will step up to the plate. Every hand is desperately needed.

March 7, 2006

My first baby boy turns six!  What a great day his birth was...well great super early morning.  Linc was born at 4:30am and was 8lbs 12oz.  He was perfect.  10 fingers, 10 toes, arms, legs, just perfect.   In the post last year, I put a picture of him when he was first born.  I loved his curly, dark hair.  His little cry was so sweet.

Yes, I tear up because he is getting big too quick.  I wish time would slow down just a little.  This year, I'm posting pics from all his birthdays. It's amazing how much they change from year.  He's such a little dude now.

Birth day!

We love you, Lincoln!  We love you to the moon and beyond.  You are a great kiddo.  As much as we, ok I, hate to see you grow up (want to keep you whittle forever!), we love watching you turn into the sweet, caring, awesome kid you are.  Can't wait to see what this year holds for you!   Happy Birthday, Lincoln!!

ADV Art Show

We went to Linc's school's art show last week. It was so great. They do this every year. It's a way for ADV to show off their artists to parents and local community. There are some seriously talented kids. I was so inspired by some of their creative.

Soccer!

Linc's favorite game. I love this game because it involves running, only three kids on three kids and it's somewhat physical but not hands on. He's learning how to be aggressive which he desperately needs. He can be terribly shy. He's not great at the game because he can get lazy and therefore doesn't run fast but he's working on it. When he tries, he is pretty good.

Linc's #4.

Unfortunately we didn't win this game.  We lost 9-7. Next time.  Same for the lottery.  :-)

Bird poop and lottery tickets

Yesterday as I was driving home from picking Linc up at school, a bird pooped on our windshield.  Smack dab in the middle of it.  Eww.  It was a fairly good size.  Not sure if it really was from a large bird or if the velocity of the poop coming down from the sky and the speed of the car made it look bigger than it normally would have been.

Linc had to document it.

As with any normal person, the first thing that came to my mind was this was a sign.  In some countries if you get pooped on by a bird it's good luck.  So I told Linc we're turning around and going in the grocery store to buy some lotto tickets.  (Cross your fingers for us!)

The point of this story?  This morning we get in the car and Linc tells Xander that a bird pooped on our car and we had to use the lottery tickets to get it off.  haha  I told him that if we didn't win, we could definitely use them for that.  :-)
