Today was the day Xander headed to the PICU to be tapped. Surgery was all backed up but if they moved him to the PICU, they would be able to do it there much sooner.  I desperately didn't want him to have it done but when they said they needed to check the fluid to see if it was infected I knew he had to go.  If the fluid had been infected, it could have dramatically changed the path we were on.
