You may remember me contacting Dr. Atala at Wake Forest to see about the possibility of the doctor growing Xander a liver. I was so hoping he would be able to help us, maybe even have Xander be the first test case but they weren't ready to do that yet. The medicine wasn't quite there. I was disappointed at the time but I knew and still know it's only a matter of time before this revolutionary medicine will help so many lives.
Anyway, I am writing about Dr. Atala because he was on Oprah the other day. His work is so important to the future of medicine so any chance I get to mention him, I'm doing it. I am so thrilled it's getting more and more exposure. The possibilities of what he and his team are doing are endless!
