October 15 - 8:46pm

Our room mates left. :( I really liked them. They were nice. We have a new room mate coming in right now. It would be nice to have one night without someone else in the room. It's not the people themselves rather their machines. They go off, no one comes, they just around and wait for someone to show up. These machines make me nuts.
Xander is doing great. His belly and weight have gone down a little which is good. The diuretic is getting rid of the fluid. There is nothing new to report other than that.

Wishing you a peaceful night.

Before you go to bed tonight, check in with Emerson. Her mother wrote her the most beautiful note. Keep her in your prayers.

4:20pm

Xander got a new IV today. Grrrr! NICU had to come and put it in after the IV therapists were unable to. NICU was awesome. One stick. They were able to get blood and an IV all at one time. It was great. Well, not really because any sticking stinks but at least they only had to do it once.

The surgeon's ordered an HLA matching blood test today. We're not sure what to think about that. It's probably nothing. We'll keep you posted.

Pulmonary just swung in. They were asked to come in and look at Xander's chest x-rays. They didn't have much to offer. They feel the fluid is there because of his liver disease and not any other reason. That is good. We don't need him fighting one more thing.

9:53am
Xander's fluid over his right lung is starting to accumulate again. Not horribly but enough to increase the amount of lasix (diuretic) he is getting. I really hope it can be controlled it with the lasix. I don't want to go back to the PICU to have him tapped again.

Please, please pray the lasix keeps the fluid in check.
